Meetings, transcripts, and action items

Record a meeting and get the note, the decisions, and the tasks — written on your device.

A meeting produces two useful things: what was decided, and who does what next. Handled captures both while you stay in the conversation.

Record

  1. 1Start recording from the meeting’s row on Today, or from the menu bar on Mac.
  2. 2A small pill shows the session is live; Handled listens from your device’s audio, so no bot joins the call.
  3. 3Stop when the meeting ends. The pill switches to Summarizing, and the note is ready moments later.

Because it records from the device rather than joining the call, it works the same everywhere — Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or a conversation at a table.

What you get back

  • A note holding the transcript and a summary of what happened
  • The decisions, pulled out so they are not buried mid-transcript
  • Action items proposed as tasks with dates — you approve them, and nothing becomes a task without you

Ask your meetings

Open a meeting note and ask a question — "what did we promise the client?" The answer is generated on your device, grounded in the transcript, and shows the excerpts it used so you can check any claim in one tap.

Before you record

Recording and transcribing other people has legal and social consequences that vary by country and company. Tell participants, and follow the rules that apply where you are.

Transcription runs on your device — the audio is not uploaded to produce your notes. Meeting tools you already use can flow in too: see Fathom, Fireflies, and Granola.
